Hard metric connectors with up to 150 contacts

Raycon Technology has released a new line of 2mm hard metric connectors, designed to meet IEC standards, and ideal for use in high-speed data, telephony and Compact PCI applications.

The male connectors within Raycon's hard metric connector system are available in a variety of different sizes up to 150 signal contacts evenly disbursed on a 2.0mm grid.

Raycon offers 12 different sizes of male contacts with up to three different mating lengths and four different tail lengths, allowing the use of optional shrouds for mid-plane applications.

Additionally, Raycon offers 5+2 version connectors with five rows of signal contacts and two rows of shielding contacts used for grounding purposes.

Raycon's Type A, male connectors are designed to accept a centre-polarising coding key to eliminate any possible errors during the mating cycle.

The female 2mm receptacles support up to 150 signal contacts and can be custom loaded based on customer requirements.

Receptacles can be ordered with pre-installed upper shields to prevent electrical interference from surrounding components.

Bottom shields can be ordered separately and are installed by the customer after termination to the printed circuit board.

Similar to the male Type A connectors, the female Type A receptacle is also designed to accept the centre-polarising coding keys.

In addition to standard modules, Raycon also offers Type AB, M, N and L modules as well as press-fit power connectors.

Pricing on these products ranges from $4 to $8 depending on quantity.

Standard items are in stock and custom parts can be assembled usually within 4 to 5 weeks.
