Radiatron's Engineering Design Services division is offering fully customised plastic enclosures for electronic equipment with samples in 7-10 days and volume production within 8 weeks.

Radiatron's Engineering Design Services division (REDS) is now offering fully customised plastic enclosures for electronic equipment with a typical sampling time of 7-10 days and volume production available within 8 weeks This fast customisation service is also economical as it uses insert tooling to adapt one of over 350 "standard" parts to avoid the costs and delays associated with completely new tooling

To give designers an initial indication of the appearance of a new enclosure before samples are produced, Radiatron provides customers a free industrial design service where 3D rendered models are created from initial outline sketches.

Once approved, samples are produced and the company then adds user interfaces, switches and connectors to the package.

With the ability to add customised fascias, membrane or conventional keyboards, switches, indicators, transparent windows and even EMI shielding to the enclosures, Radiatron offers OEMs the opportunity to differentiate their products through packaging design without adding significantly to the overall product design time.

Other options include vents and louvers, tilt stands, carrying handles and straps, internal mounting systems for printers, and printed circuit card guides.

Amendments to the design of initial samples can be made quickly and at minimal cost.
