Four new ranges of micro-miniature fans and blowers offer designers new versatility in spot cooling for a wide range of handheld and other applications where space is limited The Micronel F16, F17, F25 and F30 ranges provide fans as small as 17 x 17 x 8mm, and a near-silent blower that is only 16 x 16 x 4.5mm, providing practical cooling for compact equipment or where air flow must be focused on critical components

D-sub connector range includes power and press fit
Radiatron reckons the Erni TMC series of D-sub connectors offers the industry's widest choice of configurations, including power and press-fit versions for backplane applications.
These ultraslim DC-powered fans and blowers are available with a range of motor voltages, and offer low weight, low noise and high efficiency to suit a wide range of electronic, medical, automotive and office applications.
The F16 not only offers a remarkable 12 litre/min airflow at only 6dB noise levels, and 5.5Pa static pressure, but being a blower, it delivers the air at right angles to the axis of the inlet, simplifying cooling design in ultracompact equipment.
With overall dimensions of only 16 x 16 x 4.5mm, and a power requirement of only 60mA at 5V, the F16 is ideal for portable and handheld equipment and subassemblies.
The axial fans are available as the F17 (17mm), F25 (25mm) and F30 (30mm), providing up to 30 litre/min airflow at 23Pa pressure for the F30 model.
The three fan sizes weigh 2.3, 7 and 8g, respectively, and feature speeds between 7000 and 10,000rev/min.
To suit use in small portable equipment, fan noise is minimised to achieve 13dB for the F17 and 17dB for the larger F30.
All models are designed for -10 to +60C operation and are typically available from stock.
As with all Acal Radiatron products, samples and technical support are available.
