Crystal oscillators maintain frequency
stability
Miniature low-cost RoHS-compliant temperature-compensated crystal oscillators offer frequency stability of +/-0.5ppm over the -40 to +85C temperature range.
C-Mac Microtechnology has launched a range of miniature low-cost RoHS-compliant TCXOs (temperature compensated crystal oscillators) offering frequency stability of +/-0.5ppm over the -40 to +85C temperature range Packaged as a standard 5 x 3.2mm SMD, the new CFPT-127 offers a range of output frequencies between 16.32 and 33.6MHz

Self-calibrating oscillators set new standards
A new range of self-calibrating oven-controlled crystal oscillators can outperform traditional Rubidium oscillators in many aspects.
The CFPT-127 has been designed specifically for GPS equipment, providing a DC-coupled clipped sinewave output at standard frequencies of 16.32, 16.8, 19.2, 24.5535, 26.0 and 33.6MHz.
Drawing just 2mA (typical) from a 3V supply, its low power requirement and tiny 5 x 3.2mm package size make it ideal for use in handheld and portable receivers, and its +/-0.5ppm temperature stability imparts high sensitivity in detecting and tracking weak signals.
In this way, a tiny low-cost component enhances both the performance and the battery life of GPS systems.
The CFPT-127 is supplied on standard tape and reel and supports lead-free reflow soldering at 260C.
Typical ageing over the first year is +/-1ppm at 25C.
"GPS technology is fast moving into the mainstream, not least in mobile handsets and automotive satellite navigation systems", said Mary Carbin, Business Development Manager, Frequency Control Products, C-Mac Microtechnology.
"This means that each system component must be competitive in every respect".
"Among GPS timing devices, the CFPT-127 represents the best combination of performance enhancing stability, compact design, low price and efficient delivery".
