Fully integrated acoustic data acquisition
Radstone Sensor Processing has announced at Undersea Defence Technology (UDT) Pacific 2006 the revolutionary DaqNet fully integrated acoustic data acquisition/conversion system.
conversion system Radstone Sensor Processing - part of Radstone Embedded Computing - has announced at Undersea Defence Technology (UDT) Pacific 2006 the revolutionary DaqNet fully integrated acoustic data acquisition/conversion system.
Available in a rackmount 1U form factor, DaqNet is characterized by its high channel density analog (192 channels) and digital (240 channels) I/O.
The uniquely compact size and highly competitive pricing of DaqNet makes it appropriate for a broad range of sonar applications in surface ships and submarines, in vibration analysis and in test and measurement.
"DaqNet responds to customer demand not only for increased channel counts in compact enclosures, but also the need for a complete, integrated data acquisition and control node solution that significantly reduces the customer's integration effort," said Dan Veenstra, Vice President of Systems and Business Development at Radstone Sensor Processing.
"This announcement also establishes a new, much lower price point for this level of functionality, making DaqNet's capabilities affordable for customers who previously may not have considered such a sophisticated, high performance solution".
An autonomous high-speed acoustic server ideal for today's network-centric environment, DaqNet provides data connections and control capabilities via dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
The server is easily configurable via the redundant dual Gigabit Ethernet connections using the SNMP protocol.
With its plug and play capabilities, DaqNet can be connected to the network, configured with the sample application provided and the connection tested through hardware-implemented A/D and D/A test channels.
DaqNet is customisable using any combination of up to four I/O modules - analog input, analog output or digital I/O: each digital I/O module provides several options for triggering control including the ability to precisely synchronise digital and analog outputs for use in sonar transmit systems.
An unlimited number of DaqNet servers and channels can be synchronised in real-time using Radstone Sensor Processing's advanced time stamping technology.
Each DaqNet supports master/slave configuration for redundancy in the event of a failure.
