RAiO Technology's RA8806 LCD controller can display the Latin alphabets, as well as traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese.

RAiO Technology has developed the RA8806 four grey scale LCD controller, designed for small and mid-size LCD panels It suits a range of commercial, industrial and medical appliances, such as multifunction printers, human-machine interfaces, ticket vending machines and test and measuring instruments

The RA8806 LCD controller suits QVGA Dot-Matrix type STN-LCDs.

It can display the Latin alphabets, as well as traditional Chinese or simplified Chinese.

The interface of RA8806 supports the 8080/6800 series MPU protocol interface, which is capable of switching the interface with a 4 or 8bit data bus.

For LCD driver interface, it can be set to a 4/8bit data bus.

The RA8806 supports resolutions from 128 x 64 up to 320 x 240 pixels in normal mode and 640 x 240 or 320 x 480 pixels in extension mode.

The device supports 90, 180, 270 degree font rotation, allowing the LCD screen to be placed horizontally or vertically.

The LCD controller includes an embedded intelligence touch panel controller, which provides a four-wire resistance-type touch panel interface.

The PWM output provides an easy contrast or back-light control method for LCD panels.

The embedded 512Byte character generation RAM (CGRAM) allows user to build up to 16 full-size or 32 half-size fonts.

Even with the single-layer display, the other unused layer can be used as CGRAM.

The RA8806 supports area scrolling, font blinks/bold/enlargement and has a memory clear function.

The controller has an operating temperature range of -30 to +90C and is RoHS compliant.
