Rabbit Semiconductor has released the first RabbitCore modules powered by the new Rabbit 4000 microprocessor.

Rabbit Semiconductor is pleased to announce the release of the first RabbitCore modules powered by the new Rabbit 4000 microprocessor With this powerful and highly integrated chip, Rabbit is creating a new series of core modules that are the fastest, most code efficient, most feature-rich and most I/O flexible RabbitCore modules to date

RabbitCore modules are engineer-friendly control and connectivity solutions enabling fast and low cost device development.

The new RabbitCore modules provide a practical combination of features for applications as simple as serial-to-Ethernet, as well as embedded control and networking for the most critical devices and equipment.

The RCM4000 and RCM4100 RabbitCore families take advantage of Rabbit 4000 features such as integrated Ethernet on-chip, hardware DMA, 16bit memory support, and up to six serial ports and 40 GPIO lines with four levels of alternative pin functions.

The RCM4000 family is equipped with Ethernet and 32Mbyte of NAND Flash, which is perfect for remote data logging and control; the RCM4100 is the non-Ethernet family running up to 60MHz and with a 12bit A/D convertor and up to six serial ports for easy connectivity to various peripheral devices.

Programming the RabbitCore modules is simple with the industry-proven Dynamic C software development system.

Tight hardware-software integration substantially reduces development time and cost.

In addition, Rabbit developers do not need costly in-circuit emulators - programming is accomplished simply by connecting an interface cable from a PC to a Rabbit-based target system.

The Rabbit 4000-based series of core modules will be released with the latest version of Dynamic C that supports the processor's over 500 new instructions resulting in reduced code size and faster program execution.

An innovative, intelligent I/O configuration utility provides a flexible approach to selecting pin functions and values that considerably reduces development time and removes conflicts from pin assignments.

The RabbitCore RCM4100 development kit, priced at $259 and including an RCM4110 module, is available now.

The RabbitCore RCM4000 development kit will be available in June.

The RCM 4110 module is priced as low as $29 in 1000-unit and higher volumes and will be available for volume purchases in the third calendar quarter of this year.

The RCM4100, RCM4000, and RCM4010 modules will also be available for volume purchase in the third calendar quarter.
