Strain gauge systems test automotive
safety

KSR Engineering has developed its own equipment based on RDP's Modular 600 series to monitor potential fatigue and fault conditions in automotive systems.

KSR Engineering, based in Scunthorpe, specialises in the development and manufacture of brake, clutch and accelerator mechanisms for many international car makers With facilities in over 14 countries worldwide, and huge expansion plans in progress, KSR Engineering is one of the largest companies in its field and is at the forefront of developments of car controls including 'fly by wire' technology

"Nearly all automotive testing is focused primarily on safety issues", explains Peter Wilson of KSR, "but we needed to measure the effects of metal fatigue as well".

With no suitable equipment available, KSR developed its own equipment to monitor potential fatigue and fault conditions in automotive systems.

"We chose RDP's Modular 600 series as the central component for strain gauge measurement.

The monitoring system will be used initially to analyse load deflections and establish the quality of components".

Several major motor manufacturers have already shown interest in KSR's unique measurement system for their own use putting RDP's strain gauge measurement systems at the cutting-edge of worldwide automotive research. Request a free brochure from RDP Electronics ...
