Workshop gives complete picture on CE.NET 5.0
A UK-based workshop will give embedded software development engineers hands-on experience in running the new 5.0 release of Windows CE.NET on next generation processors.
This equates to over 75% of the 2001 show floor size.
"As Nepcon is at the hub of the industry, we're in a unique position to judge exactly what is happening in the market", comments Exhibition Director Justin Tadman.
"Although the current economic conditions are described as tough at the very top end, companies believe that this is a short-term situation, and that a recovery will take place in the last quarter of 2001 and the first of 2002.
In the medium and lower volume sectors, exhibitors report no downturn and are currently trading briskly".
42 of the industry's major players have now reserved space at Nepcon 2002, taking on average over 30% more space.
"As predicted by our research, companies are taking bigger stands as a result of the larger, more expansive format of the new show", explains Tadman.
"With the success of the last two years and climbing visitor numbers (visitor numbers were up by over 8% in 2001), the industry as a whole is right behind Nepcon.
Companies know that it is a major event on the show calendar and, by the time of the next show in October 2002, the market should have recovered.
They are therefore happy to confirm their participation at the event".
Already signed up for the 2002 show are companies including: Panasonic, Europlacer, DEK, Pace Europe, Turner, Mydata, Capital Equipment, Blundell, Nutek, Diagnosys, Agilent, Scorpion Technologies, IPTE, Teradyne, National Instruments, GenRad, SPEA and Loctite.
Nepcon 2002 will take place in Halls 1 and 2 of the NEC, Birmingham, between 1st and 3rd October.
Nepcon South will take place at the Brighton Metropole on 2nd and 3rd April 2003.
Nepcon North will take place at the Harrogate International Centre on 16th and 17th September 2003.
