DTI project fronts Nepcon seminar programme
Reed Exhibitions has announced the line up for this year's Process Technology Seminars at Nepcon, with The SMART Group/DTI's PPM Benchmarking project taking centre stage.
Reed Exhibitions has announced the line up for this year's Process Technology Seminars at Nepcon, with The SMART Group/DTI's PPM Benchmarking project taking centre stage.
Organised once again by The SMART Group and TISA, and supported by Electronics Manufacture and Test magazine, the free-to-attend seminar programme will focus directly on major issues within the electronics manufacturing industry.
The PPM Benchmarking project aims to provide the electronics industry with a monthly average parts per million defect level for stencil printing, component placement, reflow and wave soldering.
This will enable companies to compare process yields and benchmark their process against other similar products or companies, free of charge.
The findings from the first stage of the project will be presented at a specially arranged seminar session, taking place at midday on Wednesday 2nd October.
Also featuring heavily in the seminar program is lead-free assembly and soldering.
Information on lead-free manufacturing has emerged as a leading requirement for visitors in Nepcon's web-based Technology on Demand initiative, in which visitors can request technologies and topics that they would like to see addressed at the show.
Other areas to be covered in an extremely varied line up include: optoelectronics; 0201 chip component design; pin-in-hole reflow assembly; complementary test techniques; nitrogen soldering; PCB reliability; and organic substrates.
The full schedule is now available on the Nepcon website, at .
Situated in a purpose-built open seminar theatre in Hall 1, the 25-minute-long presentations will take place on the hour, the first starting at 11am and the last starting at 3pm on each day of the event.
Justin Tadman, Exhibition Director, comments: "As usual, The SMART Group has helped put together a varied and interesting set of seminars, at least one of which should appeal to each visitor.
The PPM project in particular is a major initiative for the electronics industry and we're delighted to be in a position to host the initial findings, as we did the launch earlier in the year.
Nepcon has always been about new developments and new technologies, and seeing some of the industry's major technology issues confronted head on is a key reason for attending.
This year will be no different in that respect".
