As part of the knowledge focus of the new Nepcon Brighton show, the event will now encompass a lead-free workshop from the SMART Group.

Allowing visitors to gain first hand experience with lead-free processes, the hands-on sessions will enable a trouble-free introduction to lead-free and include presentations on the key aspects of relevant technologies.

The workshop will take place in a specially designed area of the show floor.

Involving some of the industry's major suppliers of lead-free products and processes, the workshop will cover everything from components and PCBs to screen printers and inspection equipment.

With the aim of helping companies and individuals understand the implications of lead-free across the board, the area adds further emphasis to the educational side of the Nepcon show, following the announcement of three seminar programs and a significant keynote speech.

Each visitor that signs up for the workshop will also receive a special CD-ROM featuring lead-free information provided by each of the companies involved, making it a unique and valuable lead-free reference source.

With places strictly limited, visitors are encouraged to book their places early.

"With lead being banned in the manufacturing of many electronics products in just three years' time, this is a major issue within the industry and one that the SMART Group is addressing head-on", says Exhibition Director Justin Tadman.

"Every company must soon have solutions to what is a significant problem and be prepared to implement them.

We are delighted to have the workshop at Nepcon Brighton, as it gives our visitors a truly unique show experience that they will find nowhere else".
