Engineers and technicians must be trained
Leading UK engineering and technology firms, with a combined multi-million pound spend on training and development, will assemble at the IEE 'Investing in Technical Teams' forum on 4 November 2004.
Workshop gives complete picture on CE.NET 5.0
A UK-based workshop will give embedded software development engineers hands-on experience in running the new 5.0 release of Windows CE.NET on next generation processors.
The BSI schedule, to be repeated daily for the duration of the event, will cover a range of topical issues related to lead-free compliance.
Seminar titles include: "PCB standards: which one is right for me?", "IPC 610: Pb-free guidance", "The RoHS Directive: routes to compliance"; and "IPC 610: prove your capabilities".
"The scale of the information available at this year's Nepcon exhibition really highlights our commitment to addressing the issues facing the modern electronics industry", explains Nepcon Sales Manager, Claire Jeffreys.
"As the UK's only national electronics manufacturing exhibition, it is imperative that we comprehensively address the subject of lead-free in line with the approach of the July deadline".
"The involvement of the BSI is an extremely valuable addition to Nepcon 2006, ensuring that event participants are able to confidently meet the requirements of the RoHS Directive".
Manufacturers around the country rely on BSI testing to independently assess the performance of their products.
As a consequence, the role of the organisation is particularly relevant for today's electronics manufacturers as they prepare to transition to the new lead-free environment.
BSI is actively involved in the promotion of manufacture compliance, evidenced by its Kitemark scheme which aims to ensure that PCB processes and final assembly accord with the globally accepted IPC-A-610C.
"The combination of BSI and SMART Group-run seminars will maintain Nepcon's reputation as a valuable industry knowledge base", adds Jeffreys.
"As the event moves to the improved facilities of the NEC in Birmingham, we have been able to increase the scope of the attractions involved within the exhibition".
"The extensive seminar line-up is a great example of this, and one which will deliver direct value to the majority of Nepcon delegates".
