WEEE delay must be used for consultation
Repic has responded to the Government's announcement of a further delay to the implementation of the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive.
Repic, the not-for-profit recycling body set up by 53 of the UK's leading electrical goods manufacturers, has responded to the Government's announcement of a further delay to the implementation of the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive Chief Executive Dr Phil Morton commented: "To implement such a far-reaching and ambitious directive was always going to be an enormous challenge for Government and industry"

Repic has received approval from the Environment Agency for its WEEE compliance scheme.
"But some serious issues such as allocation of responsibility for WEEE waste and proper access to civic amenity and other designated collection facilities remain unresolved".
