"This type of structured approach should maximise the amount of electrical and electronic appliances that can be reused or refurbished by our network of authorised reuse operators, while supporting Repic's WEEE collection responsibilities".
"We estimate that this partnership will generate at least half a million quality assured appliances a year for our members to distribute to the UK's excluded consumers".
The FRN is co-ordinating the development of a nationwide re-use and logistics network of facilities known as ARCs.
These sites will offer a "hub and spoke" infrastructure to aid collection, sortation, bulking up and onward transportation of WEEE while centralising repair and re-use capacity for distribution to the local re-use sector.
