Plinths extend UPS system features
Advance-Galatrek has unveiled the Elite ETX uninterruptible power system (UPS) series extension plinths.
Advance-Galatrek has unveiled the Elite ETX uninterruptible power system (UPS) series extension plinths.
The ETX range of conversion plinths is designed to partner models in the Elite UPS range, and provides additional functionality and flexibility when added to various Elite models.
Spanning capacities from 700VA to 1.5kVA, the Elite ETX series adds facilities that include voltage conversion, together with optional harmonic filters and manual maintenance bypasses.
The plinth is intended to sit beneath the UPS, and removes the need for the installation of a separately cased voltage conversion transformer, including the associated wiring between the units.
Connection between the UPS and plinth is achieved through plug and play connectors, guaranteeing straightforward installation and full compatibility between units.
The units are ideal for applications such as industrial sites running on 110V AC 50Hz, or US 120V AC 60Hz sites, requiring voltage conversion for satisfactory equipment operation.
European sites running hardware originally designed for US use can also be accommodated.
As an option, models in the Elite ETX series can be specified with a built-in harmonic filter.
This addition uses the transformer element to prevent the UPS from polluting the mains supply, and loads that are connected downstream.
Additionally, the transformer provides Galvanic isolation between the UPS load and the mains supply.
This ensures that the load is able to receive a pure power supply, free from harmonics, spikes and other noise, even when the system is in bypass mode.
A further option sees either the ETX 700VA or ETX 1kVA models fitted with a manual maintenance bypass.
When fitted, this allows the connected UPS to be powered down, or even removed, without causing any disruption to the load.
Because the bypass is rooted through the voltage conversion transformers, this ensures that the load receives the correct supply, regardless of whether the bypass circuitry is in operation.
Models are available with either a 230V AC input and output voltage, or for 110-120V AC applications.
Additionally, separate wall mounted maintenance bypasses are available, featuring both manual and automatic transfer, and providing optional transient protection.
