UPS family for wireless LANs
The new Dialog Vision interactive UPS is specifically designed to solve power problems within local area networks and especially those deploying wireless technologies.
The Dialog Vision from Riello UPS is a line interactive uninterruptible power supply specifically designed to solve power problems within local area networks and especially those deploying wireless technologies.
The adoption of wireless technologies has been rapid, fuelled by its ease of installation and cost-savings over traditional fixed cable nodes.
As a global market, wireless networking is forecast to reach US $4.3bn by 2009, according to the Dell'Oro Group and the technology is rapidly evolving to support even larger and diverse installations.
With more organisations now running wireless operations there are increased security risks and the potential for data disruption due to poor power quality.
Dialog Vision provides the level of protection most often required by these applications and can prevent a complete mains power failure from disrupting operations.
The UPS has a battery runtime that can be upgraded from 10min to several hours using battery extension packs and provides a continuous sinewave output - the waveform considered the most suitable for powering sensitive electronic devices, whether operating on mains or battery power.
Dialog Vision has been designed for ease of installation and maintenance in an IT environment.
The UPS is capable of supporting a small-to-medium sized installation with a power range starting from 500VA (small server-size) and a choice of case designs including a slim-line 1U high rack-mount format, a floor-standing tower unit or combination designs.
Each UPS includes predictive battery testing routines and 'hot-swappable' batteries for zero-downtime servicing.
To keep users informed on its operational status, Dialog Vision has an easy-to-view front panel LCD.
This can be turned 90 degrees dependent upon the case design installed.
The UPS can also be managed across the supported LAN using the PowerShield management software supplied.
"Wireless networks are only as good as the power behind them", says Robin Koffler, General Manager for Riello UPS .
"Dialog Vision provides a sophisticated, well designed solution for this arena and offers an ideal protection level for the types of hardware installed".
The new Dialog Vision comes with a two-year warranty, software configuration pack and PowerShield software on CD-ROM.
The range starts from £260.00 plus delivery and VAT.
Model sizes include: 500VA, 800VA, 1100VA, 1500VA, 2000VA, 2200VA and 3000VA.
