Practical EMC guides are free until September

REO (UK) has completed its series of 17 practical guides in handy pocket-size format, covering a wide range of EMC immunity and emissions standards.

REO (UK) has completed its series of 17 practical guides in handy pocket-size format, covering a wide range of EMC immunity and emissions standards.

Each book takes the reader through an explanation of a particular EMC phenomenon, the problems that it can cause, the requirements and equipment needed for full compliance and alternative test methods.

The books are available free in the UK to anyone that requests them before 1st September 2006.

After this deadline it will still be possible to order the books from the REO online shop but at a cost of GBP 5.00 each.

A number of the standards covered in the series are those that have been adopted as European harmonised standards and others are called up by generic or product-family standards.

The purpose of the books is to provide a reference source that is easy to follow and to simplify each standard with the aid of illustrations, diagrams and real-life examples.

The guides are also particularly useful as a quick reference when there is a need to obtain an overview of an EMC standard or a basic understanding of a particular interference or power quality problem.

Furthermore, the books are helpful when an assessment of the relevancy of all EMC standards with respect to a product is required, such as in the case of the self-declaration route to conformity.

It is envisaged that the standards will also be helpful to those who will be responsible for the implementation of "best EMC practice" in fixed installations when the new EMC Directive (204/108/EC) becomes effective in July 2007.
