VME board accelerates to PCI Express
The RVME1200 Oden is first of a new breed of VME boards - the first VME board to make the shift to PCI Express technology.
The RVME1200 Oden is first of a new breed of VME boards - the first VME board to make the shift to PCI Express technology The Oden also has the fasted memory access speed of any VME board as it uses a 533MHz front side bus and DDR2 memory technology
Apart from having the fastest onboard interconnections with PCI Express, it has an expansion connector with PCI Express x16 offering an 8Gbyte/s interface.
Naturally the Oden board comes with a 2eSST VME interface.
The RVME1200 has three Gigabit Ethernet interfaces of which two can be fibre in front or rear as per VITA 31.1.
And, as the board is based on a commercial chipset and mass market technology, software support is widely available.
