A new range of compact transflective colour TFT displays from Philips are ideal for handheld applications where low power and good readability are important The range consists of four screen sizes - 2.2, 3.1, 3.5 and 3.8in

All the panels feature the latest transflective TFT technology, allowing operation in direct sunlight as well as complete darkness.

The panels all use low power white LED backlights which ensure a long operating life and resistance against vibration damage, ideal for tough industrial applications.

The 3.5 and 3.8in panels are both 240 x 320 pixel resolution panels, with an 18bit interface giving 256k and 260k colours, respectively.

Both include resistive touch panels fitted as standard.

The 2.2in panel features 176 x 220 pixels and the 3.1in 176 x 320 pixels.

The complete range has been designed to ensure that each module's footprint is kept to a minimum, that power consumption is also optimised to be as low as possible, yet the display image is high in contrast with or without the backlight operating.

Wide viewing angles and fast response times are also features of all the panels making them ideal for a wide range of monitor and control applications.
