Transflective LCD boasts the best of
both worlds
NEC has developed an LCD that simultaneously maximises the high ambient light visibility features of a reflective-type LCD, and the low ambient light visibility features of a transmissive-type LCD.
Dedicated NEC distributor Review Display Systems now offers the latest transflective technology (NLT) which enhances the existing wide range of TFT solutions for industrial applications NEC has developed an LCD that simultaneously maximises the high ambient light visibility features of a reflective-type LCD, and the low ambient light visibility features of a transmissive-type LCD, to deliver high picture quality in all indoor and outdoor light environments

Review Display Systems has unveiled the latest addition to its single board computer range: the Aaeon PCM-5335.
The 6.5in VGA NL6448BC20-14 is now in mass production, and the 5.5in QVGA NL3224BC35-22 will be in mass production at the beginning of June 2005.
Engineering samples are now available for the 5.5in QVGA NLT.
The 5.5in NL3224BC35-22 (fully compatible with the popular NL3224BC35-20), offers exceptional brightness of 600cd/m2 in transmissive mode.
NEC will release further NLT panels in the near future, including a 12.1in version, which will also be fully compatible (form-fit-function) with the existing transmissive TFTs.
