The Bluetooth qualification process helps manufacturers ensure their product complies with the Bluetooth specification.
The process calls for product testing by the manufacturer and by a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF) for certain tests.
It is the BQB's role to assess manufacturers' compliance folders in respect of each product which contains a precise product description and a Declaration of Compliance with the Bluetooth Specification.
On completion a BQB is responsible for listing products on the official database of Bluetooth qualified products.
Steve Flooks, RFI's Bluetooth Development Manager commented: "This is the first major step for RFI to establish itself within the Bluetooth industry.
RFI is committed to providing its customers with a complete Bluetooth Qualification program and plans to provide accredited services by April 2001.
In addition to providing Qualification services, RFI is also working with technology partners to provide a comprehensive Bluetooth development 'Solutions' service covering hardware, software and expert training".
