Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has signed a Test House Relationship Agreement with Visa International to test Open Platform chip cards complying with Visa requirements The agreement followed a thorough training and verification programme with Visa International and means that RFI can now offer approvals services under the Visa scheme for Open Platform smart cards
This builds on RFI's existing recognition by Visa for testing chip cards to EMV Level 1 and VSDC requirements as well as its accreditation under EMVCo for Smart Card terminal testing to EMVCo standards.
Brian Watson, RFI's Development Director, commented on the appointment: "RFI set up this new service in order to increase the availability of Open Platform approvals services, which will reduce lead times for Open Platform card manufacturers and help facilitate the growth and deployment of this new chip card technology".
