First UK Bluetooth Qualification Test
Facility
Radio Frequency Investigation has received its official accreditation from the Bluetooth Qualification Review Board as a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility.
Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has received its official accreditation from the Bluetooth Qualification Review Board (BQRB) as a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF), covering the scope of Radio Frequency Conformance for all category A and B test cases RFI is the first laboratory in the UK to be recognised as a BQTF, and one of only 10 worldwide

Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has been appointed as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA.
Smartcard consultancy and testing services
RFI is the first organisation in the UK to offer independent, commercial Smartcard development testing, consultancy and type approval services to manufacturers of Smartcard readers and terminals.
From its laboratory in Thatcham, Berkshire, RFI offers a complete suite of conformance tests covering RF, protocol/profile, Blue Unit and interoperability.
Steve Flooks, Bluetooth Development Manager at RFI, said: "RFI has again demonstrated its proficiency by achieving accreditation only four months after installing the BITE RF conformance tester.
Our engineers applied their experience gained through years of setting up UKAS accredited conformance services for the wireless industry.
We are proud to be the first laboratory in the UK to gain this accreditation and this will further strengthen our position with our customers like Cambridge Silicon Radio".
RFI has increased its involvement in the development of the Bluetooth specification and has been accepted on the Bluetooth Test and Interoperability Initiative Policy Group (BTI), as an RF test specification reviewer.
Its Bluetooth Qualification Body (BQB), Robert Graham, is a reviewer for the hardcopy cable replacement profile and the local positioning profile for the BTAB, (Bluetooth Technical Advisory Board).
RFI will be exhibiting at the Bluetooth Congress 2002, at the RAI in Amsterdam from 11th to 14th June.
