Wireless collaboration from Japan to the
UK

Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has been appointed as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA.
Smartcard consultancy and testing services
RFI is the first organisation in the UK to offer independent, commercial Smartcard development testing, consultancy and type approval services to manufacturers of Smartcard readers and terminals.
ORC will be offering a range of new services, including Bluetooth conformance testing using the validated BiTE test platforms from Cetecom and also specific absorption rate (SAR) testing using Schmid and Partner's DASY 4 system.
RFI's contract with ORC is for two years, during which time Bluetooth and SAR testing and conformance services will be established.
ORC chose RFI on its technical merits and flexibility.
In addition to providing testing services in Japan, Orix Rentec has made next-generation wireless its strategic focus and was instrumental in providing 3G rental services to the recent roll out of 3G network in Japan.
It has heavily invested in high-end test platforms to support 3G and has recently set up a direct rental operation in the UK supporting UK and European cellular clients.
