RFI Principal Engineer Steve Flooks has attained Bluetooth Qualification Body (BQB) status following his appointment by the Bluetooth Qualification Review Board (BQRB), making this RFI's third appointment Flooks is currently based in Tokyo, Japan, supporting customers and assisting with the development of a Bluetooth laboratory

Since its first BQB appointment almost two years ago RFI has established itself as a key player in the Bluetooth industry providing services to support development from concept to market release.

RFI has formed special relationships with leading Bluetooth Chipset manufacturers to reduce the time and cost to developing products.

Although the Bluetooth specification covers interoperability tests it does not address real life environments such as piconet and scatternet performance and co-existence operation.

RFI offers assistance to manufacturers to help them assess a true performance of their product and obtain a market edge.

RFI's BQBs have assessed many products for placement on the Bluetooth Qualified Product List for companies including Brain Boxes, CSR and Universal Scientific Industries Ltd.

RFI has also validated both RF and Protocol/Profile test platforms and has developed Bluetooth courses to provide advanced training for design engineers.

Bluetooth Qualification Body status means that RFI can provide assistance at the earliest stages of product design to ensure ease of qualification.

The role of BQB personnel is to advise on the requirements of qualification, formulate test plans, and assist with compliance folder generation and formal listing of the product on the Bluetooth Qualified Product Listing (BQPL).

As an active member of the Bluetooth Technical Advisory Board RFI's BQBs have access to the latest information regarding Bluetooth qualification, to help manufacturers stay up-to-date with the requirements as they develop.
