RFI is now approved by the Ford Motor Company as an approved EMC test laboratory for testing to the Ford engineering standard ES-XW7T-1A278-AB.

Following accreditation by UKAS, RFI is one of a small number of companies worldwide approved by Ford to carry out the verification of electromagnetic performance testing on electronic subsystem components.

RFI has over 15 years experience in EMC and radio performance approvals and is rounding out its services to the automotive sector.

RFI made considerable investment in its bid to become a Ford approved laboratory, including an extension to its anechoic chamber and a dedicated engineering team.

Since accreditation, RFI has already carried out testing for a wide range of electronic devices including car audio, various motors, sensors, door locks, rear view mirrors and lighting systems.

RFI has an extensive ISO17025 accreditation schedule, which now includes the Ford standard, CISPR and ISO standards and is also a VCA approved technical service, able to provide testing and certification for compliance with the Automotive Directive (95/54/EC).

Since October last year all aftermarket electrical or electronic products that are fitted in vehicles must conform to the requirements of the Automotive Directive (95/54/EC) and be "e" marked.
