Radio Frequency Investigation has appointed Seoul-based VMK as its agent for Korea.

Radio Frequency Investigation has appointed Seoul-based VMK as its agent for Korea.

VMK will provide local support to RFI's existing customer base and grow RFI's cellular and smart card test services in the region.

Increasing its activity in SE Asia is part of RFI's long-term strategy.

The Korean cellular test market is thought to be worth around GBP 26 million as manufacturers expand their horizons from CDMA and show interest in GSM and 3G markets.

RFI is expecting to make further announcements for Japan and China in the final quarter of this year.

Commenting on the appointment Stephen Kirk, RFI's Managing Director said: "RFI is delighted to appoint VMK as our sales agents in S.

Korea; we have been impressed by the effort they have put in to raise our profile in the region".

"Over the past three years we have seen the level of business from S Korean cellular handset companies double".

"We believe that RFI's focus on time to market is inline with the requirements of manufacturers from SE Asia, particularly those in the ODM market".

"We have focused on developing a superior test facility capable of supporting all the requirements at one location, therefore reducing the time and cost involved in getting a GSM/GPRS or 3G product tested".

"This year RFI expects to see further growth from S Korea and along with VMK will offer our customers the best strategic option in the market".
