RFI becomes a TCB for the FCC
Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has been appointed as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA.
Smartcard consultancy and testing services
RFI is the first organisation in the UK to offer independent, commercial Smartcard development testing, consultancy and type approval services to manufacturers of Smartcard readers and terminals.
RFI is to retain its Ewhurst Park facilities and offices for electronic and wireless testing services.
The new 1600m2 premises comprise eight air conditioned, shielded chamber laboratories for cellular RF measurement systems, and a further six laboratories for cellular validation and secure smart card activities.
The expansion doubles the present number of laboratories, facilitating RFI's increased capability, and includes a laboratory dedicated to field trials.
In addition four private laboratories will be reserved for client use offering improved comfort and facilities when on site for the preparation of R and D samples, and other business use.
Outlining the latest developments for RFI Stephen Kirk, Managing Director explained: "Rebranding to RFI Global Services is an important milestone in the company's evolution more accurately defining RFI's position in the market place".
"It is synonymous with the quality we deliver to our customers around the world and our plans for international growth".
"Our new headquarters are part of this expansion programme and the new laboratories will extend further our 'best equipped lab under one roof' philosophy, providing our customers with the best service and solutions".
RFI will be relaunching its website as www.rfi-global.com on 28th June 2004 to reflect the new branding of each business area and assist its stakeholders in finding information on the testing and consultancy services that RFI provides.
