The latest real-time emulation hardware module from RF Solutions is designed to simplifythe development of embedded systems based on Arizona Microchip's PIC16F87X family of 8-bit microcontrollers

The latest non-intrusive, real-time emulation hardware module from PIC specialist RF Solutions is designed to simplify and speed the development of embedded systems based on Arizona Microchip's PIC16F87X family of 8-bit microcontrollers Integrating high levels of on-board functionality including flash memory and 10-bit A/D conversion, the PIC16F87X series of microcontrollers is gaining popularity across a large number of applications

The new RF Solutions ICEPIC DB877 personality daughter board, in conjunction with the company's ICEPIC and ICEPIC 2 non-intrusive in-circuit emulators, provides real-time source level debugging in assembler or "C" at maximum processor speeds across the complete 16F87X family.

Using the RF Solutions ICEPIC emulators and the DB877 daughter board allows the user to set unlimited hardware trigger breakpoints on any address or range of addresses.

Using the ICEPIC system, developers can rapidly identify and rectify particularly difficult software bugs by executing code in both single-step and procedure-step modes.

A special hardware filter controls multi-cycle instruction capture.

Designed to run under Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT, the RF Solutions ICEPIC environment includes an intuitive user interface for the configuration of key parameters and the recording and analysis of test results.

Full context-sensitive help is available and users are able to display and modify all program and data registers via the interface.

ICEPIC is fully compatible with Microchip's software support tools and will operate within the Microchip MPLAB Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
