RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments

RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders that will suit industrial machinery and other remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments over distances of between 100m and 6km Supplied as complete 'ready to use' units, the RF Solutions 103 industrial remote control transmitters are housed in rugged, aluminium IP65-rated enclosures and are available with a range of different switch options that can be tailored for the specific application

Two PP3 batteries power each unit and a power saving auto shut off feature ensures maximum battery life.

The units automatically transmit a battery low warning when batteries near the end of their working life.

The 103 transmitters utilise the Arizona Microchip 67-bit 'Keeloq' code hopping protocol to ensure totally secure transmission and are available in three licence-exempt frequency options.

Units operating at 433MHz have a range of 200m while transmitters based on the 458MHz frequency band can transmit over distances of up to 6000m.

A third 433MHz 'narrow band' option offers an operating range of 1000m.

All units feature an on-board LED to indicate when transmission is taking place.

Combined with one of the RF Solutions family of off-the-shelf decoders, the new transmitters can deliver a complete, high-security code hopping remote control system.

Alternatively, the transmitters can be used with customer-specific decoding solutions based on Microchip PIC processors.

In addition to the standard products, RF Solutions is also able to develop custom transmitters based on the 103 technology.
