RF Solutions has broadened its contract electronic manufacturing capability to meet growing demand.

RF Solutions based in Lewes, Sussex, has broadened its contract electronic manufacturing capability to meet growing demand The designer and manufacturer of radio modules and remote control units first offered a contract manufacturing service to its customers in March 2002

The addition of new equipment that includes an automatic through-hole insertion machine means that RF Solutions will now be able to populate and test all types of printed circuit board.

Additional capabilities include device programming, potting and product rework.

Commenting on the decision to expand, John Fairall Managing Director of RF Solutions said: "Despite surface mount technology (SMT) being the primary technology, many circuit boards will continue to have a number of leaded components that are not economically available in SMT packages.

Therefore we have invested in this new equipment to provide an efficient and reliable through-hole process".

He continued: "Many companies in the electronics sector are now looking to focus on their core technology areas, preferring to use a reliable, high quality subcontract service to carry out the manufacture and test of their products rather than build them in house".

All products and processes at RF Solutions are fully traceable and real-time shop floor data collection means that customers can accurately check the status of any work in progress.
