Remote control transmitters need no licence
RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments
Ideal for a wide and diverse range of applications such as telemetry, vehicle management systems and "smart" vending machines, the Maestro 100 TCP/IP is able to transmit information such as maintenance messages and sales/stock data in several formats including e-mail.
The Maestro 100 TCP/IP measures just 88 x 60 x 26mm and is housed in a rugged metal casing.
It can be connected directly to the serial port of a desktop or notebook computer via an RS232 interface to deliver instant connectivity in most environments.
A standard SIM card can be inserted in an integral holder in the unit.
Operation at both 900 and 1800MHz GSM frequencies is possible.
The module uses standard AT commands and has voice, fax, SMS and data capability.
In addition to Internet and GSM communications, the Maestro 100 TCP/IP also has class 10 GPRS capability.
This gives a data download rate of up to 28.8Kbit/s and an upload rate of 56Kbit/s.
Versatility is further enhanced by the inclusion of a single, user programmable input/output port.
Numerous additional data/fax, voice, short message and GSM supplementary services are included as standard within the Maestro 100 TCP/IP specification.
