Remote control transmitters need no licence
RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments
The evaluation platforms are designed to help engineers design a simple integrated receiver decoder with minimal hardware costs.
Optimum ranges that can be expected are up to 80m for AM projects and 150m for FM projects.
The platform is also suitable for infra-red applications and includes digital and RS232 serial data outputs.
The first of the two platforms is the RF EVAL2.
This comprehensive kit includes a three-switch, 433MHz key fob transmitter, a four-switch 433.92MHz handheld transmitter, a battery powered receiver decoder assembly and two antennas.
A 315MHz version is also available.
RF EVAL2 uses the highly secure Keeloq protocol and allows the user to experiment with this code hoping system.
The kit obviates the need to construct hand-wired prototype boards that are often unsuccessful in creating a valid environment for the development of radio systems.
The RF EVAL3 is a simplified version and comprises just the telemetry receiver decoder PCB.
A relevant RF receiver module and antenna are required to generate a complete receiver decoder.
A 110-240V AC input, 12V/1A output power supply unit is available for use with either the RF EVAL2 or RF EVAL3.
