Remote control transmitters need no licence
RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments
Housed in a durable IP65 rated polypropylene enclosure the 207 transmitter features eight large microswitch buttons, each rated for 10 million operations.
The unit has a theoretical range of up to 1km (433MHz version) or 6km (458MHz version), allowing operators to control equipment in hazardous areas from a safe distance.
The design of the 207 transmitter has been optimised for low power operation enabling it achieve an extremely long duty cycle from its high capacity NiMH rechargeable battery.
In addition to manual operation, the unit also has an auto-transmit option.
When activated the 207 transmitter automatically sends a "watchdog signal" every 5s.
The transmitted signal is continually monitored by the receiver to ensure reliable operation.
The front panel of the 207 transmitter includes a single LED that indicates a transmission and also alerts the user to a low battery condition.
The battery recharge circuit is easily accessed via a 2.1mm jack socket.
A full recharge using the charger supplied takes approximately eight hours.
The 210 receiver to which the 207 handheld transmitter can be coupled has four output connectors each with four digital outputs.
The unit is suitable for DIN rail mounting and measures 157 x 82mm.
Overall dimensions of the 207 transmitter unit are 250 x 90 x 45mm.
If required RF Solutions can supply the 207 transmitter with custom front panel overlays to suit specific applications.
