Remote control transmitters need no licence
RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments
With 12 parallel channels and 4000 simultaneous time-frequency search bins, the LS-40 series provides fast satellite signal acquisition and startup times of less than 10s hot start and 45s for cold start.
The receiver continuously tracks all satellites in view to provide accurate positioning data.
Enhanced sensitivity of -137dBm for acquisition and -145dBm for tracking ensures reliable, high performance even in urban canyons that have a limited sky view.
Strong performance is further underlined by a specified positional accuracy of 5m CEP, and velocity accuracy of 0.1m/s.
Satellite based augmentation systems such as WAAS and EGNOS are fully supported to help yield good accuracy.
Users can choose from either 3.3 or 5V DC versions to suit the specific needs of their application, current consumption is 67 to 90mA.
The basic module includes an MMCX RF connector to allow an external antenna to be plugged in.
Other versions incorporate an onboard patch antenna plus an RF connector so that in scenarios where there is a limited sky view a more effective external antenna can still be used.
RF Solutions is also able to supply a dedicated software and hardware evaluation platform to assist users in implementing designs that use LS-40 series GPS receiver modules.
All RF Solutions LS-40 GPS receiver modules are suitable for use in temperatures that range from -40 to +85C and in relative humidity up to 95%.
