RF testers check enhanced datarate
Bluetooth
A new option allows the CBT and CBT32 RF testers to perform transmitter and receiver measurements on EDR Bluetooth instruments and modules with no external equipment.
Rohde and Schwarz now offers its R and S CBT and CBT32 testers with an option for Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR Fitted with this option, the RF testers can perform transmitter and receiver measurements on EDR Bluetooth instruments and modules without requiring any external equipment

Bluetooth testers add EDR and audio capabilities

WCDMA conformance tester switches to R and D
In addition to WCDMA conformance testing, the R and S CRTU-W from Rohde and Schwarz can now also be used for signalling tests in research and development.
Testers support new digital TV standard
Rohde and Schwartz produces both operating equipment and test instruments for new DVB-H digital TV standard.
The solution will also support the loopback test mode.
Rohde and Schwarz is the first company to successfully implement the loopback function in its RF testers.
The new Bluetooth standard V2.0 + EDR (enhanced datarate) enables data transmission rates that are up to three times higher than the previous V1.1 and V1.2 standards.
As a result, labs and production now require flexible and versatile T and M equipment to quickly measure the relevant EDR parameters on Bluetooth modules and instruments in addition to performing other tests.
In combination with the new EDR option, the R and S CBT Bluetooth RF tester and the smaller R and S CBT32 are ideally suited to meet these requirements.
The EDR test specification specifies four new measurements to be made on each transmitter and receiver.
Fitted with the EDR option, the R and S CBT and CBT32 allow all measurements - with the exception of EDR C/I performance - to be performed without any external equipment or PCs.
For EDR receiver tests, the option supports the loopback test mode in accordance with the specification.
Rohde and Schwarz is the first manufacturer of T and M equipment to successfully provide this function.
The loopback test mode verifies the receiver sensitivity of an existing Bluetooth link under virtually realistic conditions.
Like the basic versions before, the R and S CBT and CBT32 with the EDR option feature high measurement speed.
Lab tasks can thus be handled more quickly, reducing test times and costs in production.
For example, it takes the R and S CBT only 5s to measure four 2-DH5 and four 3-DH5 packets on three RF channels.
During this time, it calculates all measurement results of the "EDR carrier frequency stability and modulation accuracy" and "EDR relative transmit power" test cases.
The R and S CBT and CBT32 with the Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR option can be ordered now from Rohde and Schwarz. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
