Spectrum analysers take on basestation
testing

The Advantest U3771 (31.8GHz) and U3772 (43GHz) are portable spectrum analysers that are ideal for installing and maintaining microwave link systems in basestations.

Available from Rohde and Schwarz, the Advantest U3771 (31.8GHz) and U3772 (43GHz) are portable spectrum analysers that are ideal for installing and maintaining microwave link systems in basestations With its low weight and small dimensions, the U3772 is billed as the smallest microwave analyser up to 43GHz on the market

Both analysers can also be used in production, for monitoring or servicing radar equipment and systems as well as in radio relay or satellite communications.

Both analysers have small dimensions and weigh only 6kg, which makes them ideal for mobile use.

The 16.5cm high-contrast TFT screen is also of advantage for mobile use.

The repetition rate of 15 traces per second and sweep time of 20ms make adjustments very easy.

To display large level differences, the screen has a logarithmic 100dB display area.

Thanks to its short warm-up time and its optional battery pack with an operating time of two hours, the instrument is ready for use at any location within a short period of time.

Automatic functions such as channel tables at a keystroke, various power measurements or the measurement of harmonics make instrument operation easy even for untrained users.

The instruments are equipped with two switchable RF inputs, making it possible for example, to measure the IF signal at the first RF input (9kHz to 8GHz) and the carrier signal at the second RF input (10MHz to 43GHz) and to display them together on the colour screen.

The analysers are compact in design and also offer high input sensitivity.

The U3772, for example, measures up to -117dBm at 34GHz with a resolution bandwidth of 100Hz and high level accuracy.

Up to 8GHz, an integrated preamplifier is used.

Three signal waveforms with a max/min hold function permit convenient drift measurements on oscillators.

As USB, LAN and IEC/IEEE bus interfaces are part of the basic equipment of the U3771/72, it is easy to store and process measurement results on a PC.

On the other hand, this instrument can be remote-controlled either via LAN or IEC/IEEE bus.

As both analysers are twice as fast as their predecessors and also cost-efficient, they are exceptionally suitable for use on production lines.

An internal tracking generator up to 3GHz and a high-precision reference frequency with aging of 0.02ppm per day are available as options.

The Advantest U3771 and U3772 spectrum analysers from are now available from Rohde and Schwarz. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
