An optional hardware decoder for the R and S DVM family allows users to quickly identify programmes and to immediately view and assess their picture quality.
Monitor expands digital TV coverage
Rohde and Schwarz has developed further IP and RF interfaces for its R and S DVM family, adding to its recent introduction of inputs for MPEG-2 transport streams.
All instruments of the DVM family can now be equipped with a streaming mechanism.
Several powerful expansions based on this mechanism have been implemented.
For example, a software video decoder has been integrated.
Detailed analysis of time slicing and MPE FEC with DVB-H services as well as video elementary stream analysis are supported.
Individual TS elements can now be stored on hard disk without any additional hardware.
Finally, the streaming mechanism can also be used to transmit selected transport stream elements to any PC in the network for further analysis with custom analysis tools.
All these functions are called via a view for a selected transport stream element.
The portable R and S DVM400 makes it possible to view the video contents with the software video decoder directly on the integrated high-resolution display.
For the analysis of DVB-H contents, the data broadcast analysis R and S DVM-K11 option is available.
As the DVB-H data is extracted in real time, it is possible to analyse time slicing and MPE FEC, which are typical DVB-H characteristics.
Thanks to real-time extraction, video data of the DVB-H services can be streamed to the integrated video decoder for display.
The R and S DV-ESA option performs a detailed analysis of MPEG-2 video elementary streams.
It displays the structure of the video elementary stream in clear detail.
The motion vectors of individual macroblocks can also be visualised and easily evaluated.
New R and S DVM50, R and S DVM100 and R and S DVM400 base units include the media player and write-to-file functions.
Instruments already in use can be upgraded with a free-of-charge firmware update.
The elementary stream analyser (R and S DV-ESA) software and the DVB-H time slice analyser are available as options. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
