Rohde and Schwarz has enhanced the HSDPA functionality of the R and S CMU200 mobile radio tester.

Rohde and Schwarz has enhanced the HSDPA functionality of the R and S CMU200 mobile radio tester.

Equipped with the R and S CMU-K64 software option, the R and S CMU200 already generates HSDPA signals up to 3.6Mbit/s in nonsignalling mode and decodes the response of the mobile phone in the uplink.

A new firmware upgrade extends this capability to signalling mode.

Datarates up to 10Mbit/s in both signalling and the nonsignalling modes are under development.

HSDPA is being added to the data end-to-end test applications for WCDMA (Release 99) already available.

IP-based applications such as video streaming or FTP transfer can thus be simulated and checked and RF characteristics can be tested.

In both modes, the R and S CMU200 exhibits flexibility in setting all essential parameters.

In addition, it covers all RF measurements of the five main groups: power, modulation, spectrum, code domain power and receiver sensitivity.
