Testers support new digital TV standard
Rohde and Schwartz produces both operating equipment and test instruments for new DVB-H digital TV standard.
Rohde and Schwarz already provides a complete T and M product portfolio for these new standards.
Rohde and Schwarz has already successfully set up a T-DMB transmission network in Korea.
Terrestrial digital multimedia broadcast (T-DMB) is based on the digital audio broadcast (DAB) standard, which has been introduced as digital radio in many countries.
Now the company also offers other T and M and datacasting products for T-DMB and DAB.
In combination with the new TRP player and a T-DMB/DAB library, the R and S SFU provides new test functions.
The successful all-purpose R and S SFU broadcast test system was developed for all internationally important digital TV standards; it also supports 8VSB/ATSC, J.83/B, DVB-S2, DVB-S, DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-C, DMB-T and DirecTV.
An analogue interferer and an interferer management option now complement the R and S SFU to handle transmission simulation.
By using these options, the unit can simulate the effect an analogue TV interference signal has on the useful digital signal.
The R and S DVM family, a test system for monitoring and analysing MPEG-2 transport streams, can now also handle DVB-H measurements using the DVM-K11 data broadcast analysis option.
As the DVB-H data are extracted in real time, it is possible to analyse time slicing and MPE FEC, which are typical DVB-H characteristics.
Thanks to the real-time extraction, video data of the DVB-H services can be streamed to the integrated video decoder for display.
The numerous other analysis functions for MPEG-2 and data broadcast also include analysing buffers, PCR jitter or system software updates (SSU), IP over MPEG and the multimedia home platform (MHP). Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
