Signal generators turn to DVB-H
A new option enables vector signal generators to produce DVB-H test signals.
Equipped with the new R and S SMx-K52 option, the R and S SMU200A, R and S SMATE200A and R and S SMJ100A generate DVB-H signals The vector signal generators from Rohde and Schwarz can thus be used for testing components, modules and terminals that support the mobile TV standard as well as standards for mobile communications

In addition to WCDMA conformance testing, the R and S CRTU-W from Rohde and Schwarz can now also be used for signalling tests in research and development.
Testers support new digital TV standard
Rohde and Schwartz produces both operating equipment and test instruments for new DVB-H digital TV standard.
The high-end R and S SMU200A vector signal generator with fading option can also test DVB-H mobile phones under real conditions.
All parameters of the R and S SMx-K52 can be set via remote control.
The DVB-H option complements the functions of the three generators of the R and S SMx family.
The high-end R and S SMU200A, the R and S SMATE200A automatic test equipment (ATE) model and the jack-of-all-trades R and S SMJ100A already generate WCDMA, HSPA or GSM/Edge signals, for example.
The R and S SMx K52 from Rohde and Schwarz optionally provides manufacturers of communications equipment with three signal sources for developing and verifying DVB-H components and receivers.
A single signal generator thus also allows the testing of mixed systems that support a mobile radio standard and DVB-H.
The R and S SMU200A with two paths can simultaneously generate a useful and an interfering signal.
Equipped with the optional fading simulator, the R and S SMU200A performs tests under real conditions.
Another option enhances the vector signal generator memory to 128Msample, enabling it to replay video streams of up to 20 seconds during a test.
As usual with the R and S SMx family, users can make all settings easily via a graphical user interface - also for the DVB-H option.
The signal configuration is displayed in concise block diagrams.
During an automated test, parameters can be changed by remote control.
The R and S SMx-K52 option for the R and S SMU200A, R and S SMATE200A and R and S SMJ100A vector signal generators is now available from Rohde and Schwarz. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
