High power transmitters for Vietnamese TV

The customer is the country's national TV operator, Vietnam Television (VTV), which broadcasts several nationwide programs like VTV1, VTV2 and VTV3.

The order includes the delivery of 19 high-power transmitters of the RandS NH7000C series.

Rohde and Schwarz won the order by beating out other international competitors in the invitation to tender.

The transmitters feature an output power from 5 to 10kW and are liquid-cooled.

Since they operate in a combined amplifier mode, they can be easily converted to a digital standard at a later date.

The transmitters are to be installed at eleven locations throughout Vietnam.

Especially the coverage of the VTV2 and VTV3 programs, which cannot yet be received everywhere, will be expanded.

In two shipments within only five months, Rohde and Schwarz will provide all transmitters and put them into operation.

In addition to the technically excellent products, the quick implementation was another reason to award the contract to Rohde and Schwarz.

Following other transmitter projects for both analog and digital broadcasting in countries such as Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, the contract with VTV is a great success for Rohde and Schwarz on the Asian market, especially for its Vietnamese representative.

The electronics company will also support the TV operator with respect to project management, installation and maintenance of the transmitters.
