Testers support new digital TV standard
Rohde and Schwartz produces both operating equipment and test instruments for new DVB-H digital TV standard.
Furthemore, the internal fading simulator with as many as 40 fading paths allows standard-compliant channel simulation.
Thus, the R and S AMU200A has a variety of test methods in the baseband no matter whether the user is interested in digital standards, diversity methods, or fading behaviour.
Combining these functions in one instrument of only four height units save space and costs.

Due to its modular design, the R and S AMU200A can also be configured exclusively as a fading simulator or as a baseband signal generator.
Moreover, the R and S AMU200A can be upgraded to meet future requirements and thus provides safety of investment.
To test baseband components for mobile user equipment, base stations, and other broadband communications equipment, developers and manufacturers require a reliable source for baseband signals.
But an RF signal generator is generally not required.
Thorough tests in the baseband reduce the test effort in the RF range.
In addition, fading phenomena have to be taken into consideration especially when developing wireless communications equipment.
In practice, uneven terrain, buildings, or mobile objects influence the transmission of signals.
The R and S AMU200A satisfies both requirements.
Equipped with two fading simulators, the R and S AMU200A can be used for channel simulation in the baseband.
Up to 20 fading paths per channel, time resolution of 0.01ns, and predefined static and dynamic fading profiles make the R and S AMU200A suitable for sophisticated tests under real conditions.
The R and S AMU200A also functions as a flexible baseband source for tests on baseband components of broadband communications equipment and generates signals for all important digital standards such as WLAN, WiMAX, GSM/EDGE, 3GPP FDD, HSPA, and LTE - even in real time in some cases.
Optionally equipped with two flexibly interconnectible baseband paths, the R and S AMU200A provides two synchronous generators in a single instrument.
Sophisticated diversity tests can thus be performed with a single instrument, saving costs and space in laboratories or test systems.
Each of the two internal signal generators of the R and S AMU200A additionally features an arbitrary waveform generator with 16, 64, or 128Msample.
Thus, user-specific signals such as multicarrier signals of different digital standards can also be easily generated.
Moreover, it is possible to feed as many as two additional, external signals to the R and S AMU200A.
The combination of up to four baseband signals also permits measurements on multistandard base stations.
Moreover, the generator offers exceptional signal quality: broadband phase noise is typically -155dBc, and ACLR performance typically +78dB for 3GPP FDD.
Plus, the R and S AMU200A excels with its flat frequency response of typically 0.03dB at an I/Q bandwidth of 40MHz. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
