Convertors expand available frequency range

The R and S ZVA-Z110 millimetre-wave convertors provide access to frequency bands needed for vehicle distance radar and aerospace and defence applications.

The R and S ZVA-Z110 millimetre-wave convertors add the frequency range from 75 to 110GHz (W band) to the network analyser range from Rohde and Schwarz.

This covers important frequency bands such as those for vehicle distance radar and aerospace and defence applications.

Additional hardware is not necessary, which saves time and costs.

Rohde and Schwarz is the first provider to support multiport measurements in the W band.

The four-port models of the network analysers do not require an additional external generator, which considerably reduces measurement times.

The R and S ZVA-Z110 convertors from Rohde and Schwarz can be integrated into wafer probers.

The dynamic range of over 110dB typical allows faster measurements and tests on high-rejection filters.

Owing to the convertors' multiport technology, it is possible to perform three-port and four-port measurements on balanced circuits for MMICs in the automotive area (77GHz).

Tests on low-noise amplifiers can also be performed without any problem for the first time.

These tests require low input power levels, which were not provided in existing solutions.

The R and S ZVA-Z110 now makes it possible to continuously attenuate the output power by as much as 25dB.

This is a particular advantage when doing research on radar and satellite applications.

The R and S ZVA-Z110 convertors are entirely integrated into the firmware of the network analysers from Rohde and Schwarz.

The convertors can thus be operated as if they are part of the base unit.

The automatic setting of the power levels prevents damage to the convertors.

Moreover, Rohde and Schwarz offers the R and S ZV-WR10 calibration kit for the W band.
