Test cases check NTT DoCoMo interoperability
Rohde and Schwarz has developed the first package of test scenarios to test interoperability between the NTT DoCoMo network and third-generation mobile radio phones.
Log-periodic antenna covers a big band
The HL033 is a linearly polarised log-periodic antenna suitable for general transmission and reception applications in the frequency range from 80MHz to 2 GHz.
The compact R and S OSP120 base and control unit forms the core of the platform.
Its rear panel contains slots for various modules.
Depending on the application's requirements (such as automotive, mobile radio, communications, military or EMC), suitable RF switch and control modules can be inserted into the OSP120.
This allows users to deploy the controllable switch platform to set up calibration systems, switch test instruments and amplifiers in a test system, or multiplex devices under test (DUTs), to name a few possible examples.
When measuring electromagnetic interference or susceptibility, the OSP can be used to switch signal paths between generators or test receivers, amplifiers and antennas.
Automated test procedures performed using this computer-controlled switch and control platform save time, and the few additional components in the test setup ensure reproducible and thus highly dependable measurements.
The modular design employed by the R and S OSP makes for a safe investment because the control platform can be extended and expanded to meet future requirements.
The plug and play concept eliminates complex installation work when changing modules.
An Ethernet interface makes it easy to integrate the OSP120 into a test system or connect it to a single PC.
The intuitive software interface allows users to create their own switching configurations on the PC.
Alternatively, the R and S OSP120 can be controlled via SCPI commands by means of a standardised, external user program.
An extension unit that will handle more complex switching tasks or even remote switching is being developed, along with an additional model that comes with a display.
The new universal R and S OSP open switch and control platform is available now from Rohde and Schwarz at a starting price of US $4920 for the base unit with no switching modules. Request a free brochure from Rohde and Schwarz ...
