Narrowband VHF transceivers go the
distance
BiM1 VHF transceiver modules from Radiometrix offer a long-range low-power reliable bidirectional datalink in the company's transceiver standard pinout and footprint.
BiM1 VHF transceiver modules from Radiometrix offer a long-range low-power reliable bidirectional datalink in the company's transceiver standard pinout and footprint This makes the BiM1 ideal for low power applications where existing wideband modules do not have sufficient range

Low-power transmitter comes in a compact package
Miniature PCB mounting UHF radio transmitter allows designers to create a simple datalink capable of supporting rates of up to 40Kbit/s at distances up to 300m across open ground.
Single board provides wireless RS232 interface
Two units can be used as a serial RS232 cable replacement in many 9600baud half-duplex applications.
Moreover, Radiometrix's BiM1 transceiver module is highly compact (33 x 23 x 10mm) and this, together with the low power requirement, makes it ideal for PCB mounting.
The BiM1 is perfectly adapted for a wide range of low-power and bidirectional wireless connectivity applications in battery-powered and handheld equipment.
These include remote meter reading, PDAs, organisers, laptops, handheld terminals, EPOS equipment, barcode scanners, data loggers, in-building/outdoor environmental monitoring and control, high-end security and fire alarm systems and also vehicle data download/upload systems.
Many of these applications are in rapidly expanding markets and represent a major opportunity for OEMs manufacturing such equipment.
Radiometrix has designed the BiM1, which conforms to ETSI EN300 220-3 and EN301 489-3, with a host of features.
Its frequency is 151.300MHz, but other frequencies (from 120MHz to 180MHz) can be obtained and the datarate is up to 10Kbit/s for the standard BiM1 module and the usable range is over 10km.
BiM1 is fully screened and has been provided with a feature-rich interface (RSSI, analogue and digital baseband).
Other notable aspects of the BiM1 transceiver modules include a transmit power of +20dBm (100mW) nominal, and an RSSI output with better than 60dBm range and a 10Kbit/s, -120dBm sensitivity (for 12 dB SINAD).
The BiM1's current consumption is a mere 80mA transmit, 8mA receive and it operates on a supply range of 3.8 to 15V.
The operating temperature range is from -10 to +60C (storage from -30 to +70C). Request a free brochure from Radiometrix ...
