This compact device offers a reliable datalink in an industry-standard pinout and footprint, making it ideal for low power applications where existing wideband FM modules don't have enough range or where multichannel operation is required.
Two versions of the new TR2M are available.
These cover the UK 458.5-459.1MHz band (at 100mW) and the European 433.05-434.79MHz band (at 10mW).
Radiometrix's low-profile (59 x 38.5 x 12mm) and fully screened TR2M has an excellent usable range of over 1km.
It features a high performance double superhet design having a 128 channel PLL synthesiser with TCXO.
The standard datarate is up to 5Kbit/s and the design includes a feature-rich interface (RSSI, noise squelch, analogue and digital baseband).
A 1200baud dumb modem is incorporated into the TR2M and its channel numbers and corresponding frequencies can be reconfigured by the user via an RS232 interface.
The TR2M's power requirement is low with a current consumption of 110mA transmit, 27mA receive, while the transmit power is +20dBm (100mW) nominal.
The supply range catered for is 4.5 to 16V and receiver sensitivity is -118dBm (for 12dB SINAD).
The standard TR2M transceiver boasts 23 channels in the 458MHz band and 69 channels in 433MHz band but up to 128 channels are possible, making the device ideal for a wide range of data transfer applications.
These include laptops, handheld terminals, EPOS equipment, barcode scanners, data loggers, industrial telemetry and telecommand equipment, in-building environmental monitoring and control equipment and high-end security and fire alarms, as well as vehicle data up/download.
Radiometrix's TR2M transceiver complies with ETSI EN300 220-3 and EN301 489-3 standards.
