Rittal's new type IVx handle for use with CompactPCI and VME64 extension subrack systems features metal hooks to prevent damage when used frequently with high pin-count connectors on plug-in boards.

The operating handle has been re-designed to remain within the PCB area when open to allow use on inset PCB's.

Available in two versions, one type of operating handle offers a positive slide lock specifically designed for cPCI hot-swap applications, where the microswitch is operated simultaneously with the movement of the slide-lock.

A second operation to remove the PCB can be undertaken when the on-board electronics provide the "all clear" LED status indication.

The second version has a simple snap-lock, suitable for VME64x and VIPA applications, or where hot-swap or insertion/extraction from a "live" system is not required.

Both types of Rittal's new lever handles can be equipped with an optional microswitch for on-board hot-swap circuitry and are equipped with an alignment pin, which provides for ESD protection and UL recognized 30A ground connection.

Keying chambers, multiple handle/ ganging feature and label area are also featured on both handles.
