Module powers up multiple racks

The new PDM power distribution module from Rittal offers enhanced options for the installation of multiple-rack power supply solutions.

The new PDM power distribution module from Rittal offers enhanced options for the installation of multiple-rack power supply solutions With a height of just 3U, the PDM is connected to a three-phase mains supply by way of a central IEC plug connector and is a base module for power supplies to server enclosures

A central main switch provides for simple disconnection of the module and all connected loads from the mains.

Four outputs provide connection of four Rittal busbars with the corresponding three-phase power system module.

The connections are able to supply up to 10kW each to a maximum of three neighbouring server racks, eliminating the necessity of a separate power supply to each individual rack.

The busbars are linked to the PDM without loss of space by way of a special plug connector, which is additionally secured against disconnection with a strain relief clip.

The three phases are all fused individually at all four outputs with automatic circuit breakers.

This configuration enhances security and reliability as the tripping of a fuse, due to a system fault, can never lead to a complete shutdown of all connected systems as only those systems using the affected phase are disconnected.

At the same time, the modular system design permits the selective connection and disconnection of individual components. Request a free brochure from Rittal ...
