ATX rack mount industrial computer housings include 2 and 4U versions with lockable doors to cover the replaceable media bays for the prevention of unauthorised use.

Rittal has extended its range of ATX rack mount industrial computer housings to include both 2 and 4U versions with lockable doors to cover the replaceable media bays for the prevention of unauthorised use.

The 4U housing is designed to accept a passive PICMG backplane allowing the processor board to become a plug-in module to facilitate simple upgrades.

The 4U housing includes a 120mm fan and filter, a carrier which may be externally populated with three 5.25in and one 3.5in drives and provision for up to 14 plug-in boards in total, 10 of which may be full size (approximately 340mm).

Access is simply gained through the removal of the top (EMC) cover.

A 2U housing complements the existing 1U model, and is supplied complete with 300W power supply, two 80mm fans with filters behind easy access separate front door.

The drive holder for 5.25 and 3.5in removable media drives is mounted behind the second door.

An additional drive holder is included for up to three 3.5in hard drives and a two-slot riser card completes the package.

Other housings in Rittal's ATX range include two unique front-only-access units for use in restricted spaces, one as a panel or wall mount, the other a 482.6mm (19in) mount.
